On Monday April 12th WLKY reported a collision between a SUV and a semi-truck occurred at Muhammad Ali Boulevard and 13th street at 12:30p.m. This accident resulted in a large oil spill. Crews on the scene were able to prevent the oil from spilling into the sewers and avoid any large-scale environmental impact that would have resulted.
There were, however, some power outages in the surrounding areas because of the accident. Officials from Louisville Gas and Electric and The Metro Sewer District say they will continue to work to get this resolved but they did not give a time or date. Note that there may be traffic delays in this area as a result.
