Many car accident victims in Louisville, Kentucky, are injured or killed due to another person’s careless or reckless behavior. If you are injured in a wreck caused by one’s careless or reckless behavior, you can pursue compensation for your injuries and damages against that person’s automobile insurance carrier. If the at-fault driver does not have any insurance, you may still be entitled to compensation if you (or the vehicle you occupied) had uninsured motorist coverage on your (or the vehicle’s) automobile insurance policy.
There are several common causes of accidents, including:
- Distracted driving, such as texting or using a cell phone while driving or even eating while driving
- Inattentive driving
- Speeding
- Failure to stop at red lights or stop signs
- Driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol
- Reckless or aggressive driving
- Driver sleepiness or fatigue
Other facts besides human error can also play a role sometimes in the cause of a car crash. This can include weather conditions, road conditions, or vehicular defects. If you have been injured in a car accident, it’s vital that the cause of the accident is investigated in order to determine the cause of the accident and the correct parties or insurance companies to pursue your damages.
